Vatadage  (The Stupa House)

Vatagadeya was built before the time of King Nissanaka Malla and during his time he has done major renovations to the Stupa.  Four sides of Stupa there are four Buddha Statues.  The Stupa is protected by a large roof.

 

Parakrama Samudra (The Sea of Parakrama)

The Parakrama Samudra was built by King Parakramabahu (1153 – 1186).  Parakrama Samudra originally consisted of five large reservoirs namely, Thopa Vava, Eramudu Vewa, Dumbuthulu Vawa, Kalahagala Veva and Bhu Vawa. Those were separated by smaller dams which reduce the pressure on the main dam.

 

Minneriya National Park

Minneriya National Park, there are nine species of amphibians, twenty six species of fish, seventy five species of butterflies and one hundred and sixty species of birds.  In addition there are plenty of Elephants, Spotted Deers,  Sambar and Leopards.
