Horton Plains National Park highlights the marvelous beauty of Sri Lanka.  The Horton Plains are the headwaters of three major rivers of Sri Lanka called  Mahaweli, Kelani, and Walawe. There are large herds of Sri Lankan Sambar Deer,  many types of mammals and birds.  There are around 188 varieties of Plant species out of which 63 are endemic to Sri Lanka. Horton Plains is unique due to its scarcity ecosystem not to be found anywhere else in the island. The Forest area of Horton Plains has around 57 tree species. There are some 101 flowering plant species. Overall there are about 188 Plant species,1 Fish specie,14 Amphibian species, 64 Bird species and 19 Mammal species at Horton Plains. The most fantastic places to visit through Horton plains are small world’s end, big world’s end, Baker’s Fall, Chimney Pool, Red Bridge and Thotupala Kanda.

St. Clairs Falls  (Little Niagara )

St. Clairs Falls also known as “Little Niagara in Sri Lanka” is one of the widest water falls in Sri Lanka.  There are twin waterfalls of St. Clairs, fall in stages down a steep rocky slope into a large pool which gives an amazing beauty to St. Clairs Fall.   Surrounding the waterfall there are tea plantations which increases the attraction of visitors.   People can walk through the tea bushes and reach this popular waterfall.

Hakgala Botanical Garden

Hakgala Botanical Garden is the second largest botanical garden in Sri Lanka.  The garden is world famous for Orchids and Roses.  The special attraction in this garden is the Orchid House and variety of mountain orchids, many of them endemic to Sri Lanka.  There are more than 10,000 species of flora plants in the Hakgala Botanical Gardens during the Spring season in Nuwara Eliya amazing blooms can be seen.

Bluefield Tea Gardens

Bluefield Tea Gardens is one of the amazing tea gardens in Sri Lanka.  The garden is surrounded by misty mountains and lush Tea Plants.  Visitors can have a Factory visit with experience Guides.  There is a tea center for “Garden Fresh” varieties of teas for purchasing and also a beautiful restaurant for Break Fast and Lunch.   There is a special Tea Lounge facing to amazing scenery to taste Tea and Cakes.  Kids can have a wonderful time at Kiddies Park in a beautiful surrounding. Especially visitors can walk through the Tea bushes and enjoy the breath of fresh air and marvelous environment.
